German Army Medic (Sanitäter) senior Non-Commissioned Officer (NCO) World War II – Custom Printed Brick Block Figure

This image shows a toy minifigure representing a German Army Medic (Sanitäter), specifically a senior Non-Commissioned Officer (NCO), from the World War II era.

The figure is clearly identified as medical personnel by the numerous Red Cross emblems. He wears a German Stahlhelm (steel helmet) painted white and marked with red crosses for high visibility. Over his field grey (Feldgrau) uniform tunic, he wears a white bib or tabard with a large Red Cross, another measure to ensure he was recognized as a non-combatant under the Geneva Conventions.

His rank as a senior Non-Commissioned Officer (Unteroffizier) is indicated by the silver-grey “Tresse” (braid) bordering his shoulder straps. He carries a brown medical aid kit, also marked with a Red Cross, containing essential first-aid supplies.

Historical Background: The German Sanitäter, or “Sani,” was a combat medic responsible for providing immediate medical care to wounded soldiers on the battlefield. These were brave and highly respected soldiers who willingly exposed themselves to danger to save lives. While officially non-combatants, they often suffered heavy casualties, particularly in the brutal fighting on the Eastern Front. An NCO medic, such as the one depicted, would have been an experienced and vital member of an infantry company, responsible for the well-being of his comrades and making life-or-death decisions under fire.
