Wachführer Guard Leader Deutsches Rotes Kreuz (DRK) German Red Cross World War II – Custom Printed Brick Block Figure

This minifigure represents a Wachführer, a rank that translates to “Guard Leader,” serving in the Deutsches Rotes Kreuz (DRK), which was the German Red Cross during the World War II era. His identity is explicitly confirmed by the text in the image.

He is a generic character representing a non-commissioned officer (NCO) of the DRK. During the Nazi period, the German Red Cross was organized in a paramilitary fashion. Its male members served in many support roles, including as air raid wardens, medical orderlies, and as guards for hospitals and supply depots. A Wachführer would have been an NCO in charge of one of these guard details.

The items in the picture consist of the detailed minifigure and a flag accessory:

• The toy minifigure is wearing the grey service uniform of the DRK. His affiliation is confirmed by two key pieces of insignia: the DRK sleeve eagle (a black eagle holding a swastika over a red cross) and the red cross armband, both on his left arm.
• His headgear is a grey peaked visor cap (Schirmmütze).
• The accessory is the international Red Cross flag, a white flag with a red cross at its center, mounted on a flagpole. This symbol was meant to identify medical personnel and facilities as protected under the Geneva Conventions.
