MOC – Assault Rifle (FAMAS) – Classic Size Building Blocks

The item is a German Stahlhelm with Oak Leaf Camouflage accessory, designed for minifigures.

German M35/M42 Stahlhelm (Oak Leaf / Plane Tree Camouflage) This is a custom printed headgear accessory featuring the iconic German steel helmet shape. The print displays a complex multi-color camouflage pattern consisting of interlocking splotches of dark green, earthy brown, and sandy tan. Unlike the purely orange “Autumn” or the dot-heavy “Spring” versions, this pattern represents the “Summer” variation of the Oak Leaf (Eichenlaub) or Plane Tree (Platanenmuster) design, characterized by its organic, hard-edged shapes that mimic light filtering through tree leaves.

Background: The Waffen-SS were the first military force to widely adopt mass-produced camouflage uniforms and helmet covers during World War II. This specific pattern was designed to disrupt the soldier’s silhouette in European broadleaf forests during the summer and early autumn. The helmet covers were typically held in place by hooks or a drawstring and were crucial for snipers and shock troops trying to remain unseen in the vegetation. In a LEGO diorama, this helmet is ideal for elite infantry units stationed in Normandy or on the Eastern Front.
