Detailed Character Description
(This premium building block figure uses sophisticated 360-degree UV printing to recreate the gritty, battle-hardened appearance of an elite World War I trench raider.)
-
Head & Facial Printing:
-
The figure is displayed with a bare head, highlighting a highly detailed, battle-weary face print.
-
The face features striking blue eyes contrasting heavily with deep red combat scars and fresh scratches across the forehead and cheek, perfectly capturing the brutal and visceral reality of close-quarters trench warfare.
-
-
Torso & Tactical Webbing:
-
The torso depicts the classic German field grey (Feldgrau) uniform shirt with a dark collar.
-
The standout feature of this figure is the dual canvas grenade bags draped heavily over the shoulders and chest. These makeshift, sandbag-style pouches were essential for Stormtroopers, allowing them to carry massive quantities of stick grenades into enemy trenches.
-
A dark brown leather belt with a standard brass-colored belt buckle secures the waist.
-
-
Back & 360-Degree Detailing:
-
As seen in the “Behind” view, the back of the figure features critical survival gear printed on the belt line. This includes a ribbed metal gas mask canister (absolutely vital for surviving the chemical weapons used in WWI) and a canvas bread bag/canteen.
-
-
Legs & Footwear:
-
The leg blocks continue the field grey uniform but feature historically accurate reinforced brown leather knee patches. These were heavily utilized by assault troops who spent hours crawling through the mud and barbed wire of No Man’s Land.
-
The lower legs transition into brown leather combat boots wrapped with puttees (leg wraps), designed to keep trench mud out of the soldiers’ footwear.

Historical Background
During World War I, the western front devolved into a brutal stalemate of trench warfare. To break this deadlock, the Imperial German Army developed specialized, highly trained assault units known as Stormtroopers (Sturmtruppen).
First formed around 1915, these elite soldiers abandoned the traditional, catastrophic tactic of massive human-wave charges. Instead, they pioneered infiltration tactics. Moving in small, heavily armed, and fast-moving squads, they would bypass heavily fortified enemy strongpoints to strike deep into the rear of the trench networks, relying on speed and surprise.
Because their primary goal was clearing narrow trenches, they favored close-quarters weapons. They were heavily armed with submachine guns (like the MP18), trench clubs, sharpened spades, and, most importantly, explosives. A single Stormtrooper might carry dozens of Stielhandgranaten (stick grenades) in specially issued or makeshift sandbags draped around their necks—exactly as depicted on this figure. Their revolutionary tactics heavily influenced modern infantry combat doctrines that are still used today.
