Detailed Character Description (Utilizing high-quality 360-degree UV printing, this figure meticulously recreates Doss’s formal military portrait, capturing his highest honors and distinct division insignia.)
Head & Headgear: The figure features a custom-molded tan garrison cap placed over textured dark hair. The face print captures Doss’s likeness perfectly with a warm, humble smile, distinct cheek lines, and his signature thin mustache.
Torso (Front) & Uniform: He is dressed in the formal US Army Class A dress uniform in an olive-brown tone. The most prominent feature is the Medal of Honor hanging around his neck on its iconic blue ribbon with white stars. His chest is highly decorated, featuring a personalized “DOSS” nameplate, a colorful military ribbon rack, and the blue Presidential Unit Citation above his right pocket. Above his ribbons rests the silver Combat Medical Badge, indicating a medic who performed under combat conditions. Gold lapel pins complete the formal look.
Arms (Insignia & Patches): The figure features specialized sleeve printing. The left arm bears the 77th Infantry Division patch (a gold Statue of Liberty on a blue background) positioned above Corporal rank chevrons (two stripes). The right arm features a Pacific Theater patch alongside matching Corporal stripes.
Torso (Back) & Legs: The reverse side highlights the clean, tailored fabric seams of the dress coat and the continuation of his brown leather belt. The leg blocks match the dark brown uniform trousers and transition into printed brown dress shoes at the base.
Historical Background Desmond Doss (1919–2006) is one of the most celebrated heroes of World War II. As a devout Seventh-day Adventist, he enlisted as a combat medic but steadfastly refused to carry a weapon or kill an enemy, serving as a “conscientious cooperator.” Despite facing severe harassment during training, he proved his incredible courage in the Pacific Theater.
His most defining moment occurred during the Battle of Okinawa in 1945 at the Maeda Escarpment, widely known as Hacksaw Ridge. When his battalion retreated under relentless Japanese fire, Doss stayed behind. Under heavy enemy fire, he repeatedly ran into the kill zone, dragging injured soldiers to the edge of the cliff and lowering them to safety. He is credited with saving the lives of 75 men during this engagement. For his unparalleled bravery, President Harry S. Truman awarded Corporal Doss the Medal of Honor in October 1945.
