MOC – Submachine Gun (P90) – Classic Size Building Blocks

The item is a German DAK M43 Field Cap (Tropical Cap) accessory, designed for minifigures.

German DAK M43 Field Cap / Einheitsfeldmütze (Desert Tan) This is a custom molded headgear accessory in a Desert Tan (Dark Tan) color. It features high-quality printing on the front, displaying the Wehrmacht Eagle (Reichsadler) insignia above the National Cockade (tricolor roundel). The shape accurately reproduces the famous “ski cap” style with a stiff visor and fold-down ear flaps (though molded in a fixed position), which was standard issue for German troops in tropical climates.

Background: This cap represents the iconic headgear of the Deutsches Afrikakorps (DAK) during World War II. commanded by Erwin Rommel. Originally, troops in North Africa were issued pith helmets, but they quickly preferred this lighter, cloth “field cap” (based on the mountain troops’ Bergmütze) because it was more practical for tank crews and infantry fighting in the scorching desert heat. In a LEGO diorama, this is the essential piece for creating a North African campaign scene or equipping a desert tank commander.
