Introduction
This image displays a group of three toy minifigures representing different German soldiers and officers from the World War II era. Each figure is depicted in a specific uniform and carries an accessory.
From left to right:
- Wehrmacht Major: This figure represents a Major of the German Wehrmacht (Armed Forces). He is wearing a black service uniform with grey trousers and a black officer’s peaked visor cap (Schirmmütze). He carries a black briefcase marked with the Wehrmacht eagle, suggesting an administrative or staff role. A Major was a field-grade officer, often serving in staff positions or as an executive officer.
- Panzer Lieutenant: This figure represents a Leutnant (Lieutenant) of the Panzertruppe (Tank Troops). He is wearing the distinctive black Panzer uniform, specifically designed for tank crews. His uniform features the pink piping (Waffenfarbe) on the collar tabs, which identifies him as belonging to the armored branch. He wears a black officer’s peaked visor cap and carries a brown Wehrmacht briefcase. A Panzer Leutnant typically commanded a platoon of tanks.
- Army Medic (Obergefreiter): This figure represents a Medic (Sanitäter) with the rank of Obergefreiter (Senior Private/Lance Corporal) from the German Army (Heer). He is dressed in a standard field grey (Feldgrau) combat uniform and wears an M43 Field Cap (Einheitsfeldmütze). His role is identified by the medical branch insignia (Rod of Asclepius) on his right sleeve, and his rank by the double chevron on his left sleeve. He carries a brown medical aid kit marked with a white cross. An Obergefreiter medic was an experienced frontline medical assistant.
