Historical / Thematic Background

Richard I of England is known as the Lionheart. This miniature evokes the familiar image of a warrior king through its crown, beard, sword and heraldic decoration. Its quartered shield combines motifs as collectible artwork; it is not an authenticated reconstruction of Richard’s personal arms or a portrait based on a particular medieval source.

A gold-colored crown sits over long brown hair and beard. The red cape frames richly printed armor, and the red-and-blue shield repeats small lions and fleur-de-lis motifs. A silver-colored sword completes the equipped figure. The colors and separate equipment make the character recognizable at miniature scale. These details identify the actual collectible rather than proving a specific regiment, battle or uniform date. The shield belongs to this figure and remains part of its individual equipment.

A matching white warhorse repeats the red-and-blue decoration. This individual listing contains one complete figure with its crown, long brown hair and beard, red cape, sword and heraldic shield. The equipment is included with the character; a small face-detail inset is another view rather than an extra person. The horse and other figures are sold separately. The complete eight-figure collection offers the same foot design with its companions.

Included Contents

One complete figure with the pictured crown, long brown hair and beard, red cape, sword and heraldic shield. No horse or additional figure is included.
