Historical / Thematic Background

The Thomas Grey of Heaton name gives this design an English knightly theme. Several historical members of the Grey family bore similar names, so the miniature is presented without assigning an unverified lifetime, battle or personal biography. Its plate-style armor, plume and heraldic shield provide the visual identity of this particular collectible design.

Silver-colored plate-style armor and a closed helmet surround the bearded face. A red plume rises from the helmet. Green-and-red clothing and shield fields repeat the white-lion motif. This knight carries a silver-colored axe and wears broad shoulder armor. The colors and separate equipment make the character recognizable at miniature scale. These details identify the actual collectible rather than proving a specific regiment, battle or uniform date. The shield belongs to this figure and remains part of its individual equipment.

A matching brown warhorse repeats the green-and-red white-lion decoration. This individual listing contains one complete figure with its red-plumed helmet, shoulder armor, axe and white-lion shield. The equipment is included with the character; a small face-detail inset is another view rather than an extra person. The horse and other figures are sold separately. The complete eight-figure collection offers the same foot design with its companions.
