Detailed Character Identification, Description, and Historical Background

Character Identification

One Yue Fei figure in skin-tone body with red waist wrap and black legs.

Detailed Character Description

The character has an unbearded face, black hair gathered into a topknot with a red ornament, bare neck and a printed muscular torso and arms, red waist wrap tied with a dark blue knot and black printed legs. No weapon or separate outer armor is shown for this version. The back carries the visible four-character loyalty tattoo.

Historical / Thematic Background

Yue Fei’s tattoo became one of the most recognizable visual themes attached to his story. Historical accounts connect him with an oath of loyal service, while the familiar scene of his mother applying the tattoo belongs to later storytelling traditions. This distinction lets the miniature convey the cultural significance of the inscription without presenting every detail of that popular scene as a witnessed event.

The unclothed upper body allows the loyalty inscription to remain the main design feature. Muscular torso and arm printing, a red waist wrap with dark blue tie and black legs give this version a different silhouette from the six armored depictions. Its two full-body presentations show the same character’s front and tattooed back. The small facial inset illustrates the printed expression rather than an extra figure.

The printed back carries a four-character loyalty motto associated with Yue Fei, creating a direct connection between the visible artwork and the character’s remembered commitment to service. The bare-chested presentation focuses on that theme rather than battlefield armor. It can complement the six armored designs in a character study or a historical storytelling display. Only one complete figure is supplied here; the front and back presentations show how the same body and waist wrap relate to the tattoo.
