Detailed Character Identification, Description, and Historical Background
Character Identification
Seven distinct Yue Fei designs: three plumed-helmet figures, three wide-brim-hat figures and one bare-chested tattoo version.
Detailed Character Description
The helmet designs combine black-and-gold armor with a red plume, silver-and-blue armor with a blue plume, and gold-and-red armor with a red plume. The corresponding hat versions add black, white and red capes. The two black-armored figures each have a curved sword and scabbard; the two silver-and-blue figures each carry a broad-bladed polearm; the two gold-and-red figures each have a spear. The seventh figure has black hair, a red waist wrap and the loyalty tattoo on its back.
Historical / Thematic Background
This collection presents seven artistic interpretations of Yue Fei rather than seven different historical commanders. Yue Fei served the Southern Song and became a prominent symbol of loyal service in later cultural memory. The six armored versions develop that commander theme through contrasting palettes, while the bare-chested figure introduces the tattoo story associated with his name. The group is a character collection, not a reconstruction of one documented retinue or battle.
Three helmet designs use black and gold, silver and blue, and gold and red. Their plumes, scarves, layered armor and large waist ornaments connect the different colors. Three further figures use wide-brimmed hats and matching black, white or red capes. The curved swords, broad-bladed polearms and spears remain paired with their actual designs, giving the group varied equipment without inventing a different military role or rank for each color.
The tattoo version provides a contrasting view of the same named subject, with muscular body printing and a red waist wrap. Its back inscription relates to the loyalty tradition, while the familiar account of Yue Fei’s mother tattooing him should be understood as later storytelling. The complete set can be arranged as a visual study of armor, headgear and remembered character themes. Exactly seven figures are included; individual gallery views and clothing-detail insets show those same seven members.
